Coventry hosts Carnegie Champion Schools – West Midlands semi-finals
The West Midlands semi-finals of Rugby League’s 2007/08 Carnegie Champion Schools competition takes place this week at Coventry University’s Westwood Heath sports ground.
Tuesday 27th November sees Coventry host the Redditch schools champions at Years 10 and 11. Coventry’s Champion schools for 2007/08 are: Year 10 – President Kennedy, and Year 11 – Woodlands. The Year 10 game kicks off first at 1.30 p.m.
Year 7 and 8 will be represented this year by Bishop Ullathorne and President Kennedy respectively, and their semi-finals will be played on Thursday 29 November again at the University.
“This year’s semi-finals looks likely to be a repeat of last years hard fought out games against the best of the Redditch schools,” commented Carvell Coventry Bears’ Community Sports Coach Debbie Drake. “The Coventry teams have trained and played very hard to get this far. There will be some great Rugby League skills on show this week and the boys are over the moon at the thought of progressing to the National rounds.”
