Carvell Coventry Bears to play Birmingham Bulldogs

23. May 2008

Saturday the 24th sees two of the local “big guns” clash horns for the first time this season. There is a long running rivalry between these two great clubs that stretches back to National League 3 days. It also worth mentioning that former Leicester Tiger Matt Allsopp has played for the Bulldogs and will be keen to put one past his old team.

This week sees the return of Veteran player / coach Ty Watson, young gun slinger Aaron Jarvis and Polish International Captain Tom Shaw. Saturday also mark the return of last years leading try scorer Stuart Lee who has forced his way onto the bench.

When asked about his team selection and thoughts Watson mused “Competition is fierce for positions right now and will only get more intense with the return of injured players. Attitude is paramount and is the key thing I am looking for in my players this year. We can hone skill and work on fitness but attitude, mental strength and discipline is vital to succeeding at anything in life and Rugby League is no different”
