Coventry Bears Announce Full Time Scholarships!

The Coventry Bears in association with Coventry University are pleased to announce that they will be offering Full Time Rugby League Scholarships with immediate effect.

This landmark partnership not only highlights the growing popularity of Rugby League in Coventry and the Midlands but will also provide the Bears with some of the best young rugby league talent in the country.
The full time scholarships worth up to £4,000 per year are open to both men and women and for students that have played county and or national level rugby league.

This partnership will also see Coventry Bears Head Coach Ty Watson over see the development and coaching of the University Rugby League Team. When asked about the scholarships Watson responded with enthusiasm and spoke of a bright future for the club and forming even more links with the University.

The Bears have a long history with the University – in fact the initial meeting to start up the club 9 years ago was held on campus by Bears Legend and Irish International Alan Robinson.

“This is a massive announcement and coupled with our unbridled success and hard work of our Community Sports Coach – Debbie Drake, Rugby League has a bright future in Coventry – Bring on Super League” explained an excited Bears Chairman Ron Banks.
