The Carvell Coventry Bears ladies will be playing Halifax Vandals this Sunday away in Sheffield in their RLC semi-final clash. The ladies are really looking forward to this game and are excited to be pitted against the more rugby league experienced team from Yorkshire. This is a true test for the girls to see how far we have come since we formed 4 years ago coach Michelle Umaga is extremely proud on how her young recruits have developed and knows that the hard work that both Michelle and Debbie is starting to come to fruition.
“It’s been a great few years and every year we increase numbers and our reputation in the area is getting better and better. We have a not of young girls playing for us who have a great future ahead of them and if they can play like this now then they will be awesome in a few years” Captain Debbie D rake commented. She went on to say
“ I’m one of the old girls at 28 and when the young ones are whizzing past me my bones start to creak with effort to keep up with them” she said jokingingly.
Sunday’s game will be no joke for the girls however and they are taking this really seriously with some key players out know that they all need to work extremely hard throughout the game. The Bears will be relaying on Stacey Hando directing her backs around and both Jen Mills and Sheena Larking to have a big game in the forwards.
Whoever wins this game will probably facing West London Sharks in the final at Derby on the 7th September.
There will be a coach this Sunday leaving the OC’s at 10.45 cost for players £5 and for supporters £10
