Two Bears U18's in Origin Squad

Midlands U18s Origin Clash – 26th September 2009

The Midlands goes head to head for the final time in 2009 on Saturday 26th September as U18 players in the region battle for selection for a coveted place in the Midlands team which will compete at the National U18 Carnival in October where players will stake their claim for a Community Lions U18s place.

The West Midlands host the East Midlands in an origin clash at Coventry Bears (Corner of Tile Hill & A45, Coventry, CV4 9DE) with a 12pm kick off and sees no less than nine of the regions’ clubs represented in the two squads.

“We saw a fantastic Origin series earlier in the year for the U12, U14 and U16 players” said Regional Manager David Butler. “Now the concept is being applied to the U18s age group as a selection method for our Midlands team. With a place in the National Squad at stake, the players will have to prove themselves at all stages of the selection process to give themselves the best chance of representing their country. It will be a good test of all those involved.”
